Joe Welch of Olde School Charters of Newburyport

Joe Welch caught his first shad in 1985.  As the saying goes, he was hooked. Now a charter captain who started Olde School Charters of Newburyport in 2023, Joe will share his experiences along the banks of the mighty Merrimack appreciating this remarkable gamefish.  During the presentation, Joe will cover:

* recommended gear and equipment for the boat and shore angler
* terminal set-ups and options to meet varying conditions
* popular, effective techniques
* seasonal patterns and local hotspots

Our monthly meetings are held at the Salisbury, MA Hilton Senior Center, (43 Lafayette Rd., Salisbury, MA). Admission is free to members and $5.00 for non-members.

Doors open at 6:30 pm. Our club business meeting starts at 7:15 pm and the speaker’s presentation starts around 8:00 pm.
