The Invitational Tournament is a team competition. If you don’t have a team, we will find one for you! For new members, this is a great way to meet other fishermen and learn their secret spots and techniques. Fish as long as you want all night. Next morning, everyone meets for a delicious breakfast and the announcement of winners.

We’ve made a few changes to tournament effective in 2018.

Club Meeting: THURSDAY Oct. 20, 2022: Smart Striper Strategies by Julio Silva

Please note: October and November club meetings will be held on a THURSDAY. This is due to a scheduling conflict at the Senior Center.

Smart Striper Strategies

presented by Julio Silva

Given the rising cost of fuel, decreasing free time, climate change, and depletion of bait fish by haulers, can you catch quality fish without losing your job, getting divorced, going to the ER, filling for bankruptcy, and becoming homeless? Yes! In this seminar, you will learn field-proven Smart Striper Strategies that have been refined for the past 20+ years that apply to surf, kayak, and boat.

Julio Silva is an all species, all methods angler. During the hours that he should be sleeping, he fishes for anything that swims via shore, boat, kayak, and skishing. He has been blogging for 12 years. His blog overflows with DIY projects ranging from a multi-functional fishing bucket to a custom Gloucester Light Dory that he built from marine plywood and blueprints. He has been delivering fishy seminars for 10 years. He was the President of the Plum Island Surfcasters for 4 years. He has rods like his wife has shoes. Fishing is indeed his mistress. During his seminars, he answers all questions without secrecy.
